HEY GOP!!!!

Did you come for High Voltage this thursday?? If you didnt, you missed an awesome 2h session of praising, worshipping, tesimonial sharing and praying. Prayer is important in our everyday lives so do try to make it for the next High Voltage in February!

Anyway, Aunty Aye Lan shared an AWESOME message about Honour and Respect! No she did not only share about honouring your families but those around you and above all, our Father in heaven! Honour means to value, to treat something as gold. Respect is giving something or someone a sense of worth and esteem.

[Mark 6:5]
Jesus was restrained and COULD not do any mighty works in Nazareth, His OWN hometown. He was without honour and was looked down upon by His own honetown. Because of that, His deeds were limited and He could not do anything without the faith of the people, who were expecting a greater leader.

Which is why it is very important to honour people. When we honour people, we in turn are honouring God. When we acknowledge the people we see in our everyday lives, it makes a difference to their lives and God deserves all honour!

[Luke 2:25-32]
Jesus was only 30 days old when Simeon, a devout Christian, rushed to honour Him! And yet when Jesus was 30 years old, His hometown had turned their backs against Him!

[Matthew 8:5-13]
Only when we have the faith to know that God can do anything, He would do exceedingly and abundantly! All we have to do is honour and respect Him and the easiest way we show someone that we honour them is by obedience. Do we show our parents that we honour them by obeying their requests?

There are many ways we can honour God
1) Honour God by doing what He likes [1 Samuel 2:30]
All God wants is us. Give Him ALL of our time and prioritize Him above everything else in our agenda.

2) Honour His presence
Give Him our full attention during service or during Quiet Time

3) Honour His Word
Read the Bible everyday!

4) Honour is people
Honour the people who has placed before you as your leaders like your cell leaders and your overseers. Maybe even your friends or classmates and teachers.

Remember that we have to be happy and cheerful even in our most tired and oppressed days because we have to be the change and the difference in our schools. Honour your friends and teachers and show them that having Christ makes a difference. So GOPers, go out this week to bless your schools.

Hey GoP! It's been 2 weeks into school and how have you all been faring? :)

Thinking a lot about homework, exams, stress? On Saturday, 16 Jan Ps Mark preached on He who controls your thoughts, control YOU.

It's especially when the thoughts of school and stress come in, where we have to really guard our thoughts, against thoughts that discourage, thoughts that are evil, and thoughts that are not of God.

What can we do to start thinking right?

e. Recognize that some thoughts may not be from God
f. Reject those thoughts

The Power of The Mind

The mind exercises considerable influence over the body. Many times we are limiting God by our thinking.

a) The mind can cause us to accomplish things or not

-90% of headaches are caused because of feelings like anxiety or stress

positioning yourself to grow

HEY GOP!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! It's the beginning of 2010 and we started out with a great service with our very own, Sarah Lin! Unlike other new year services, Sarah Lin started off with a bang by getting us to tear up our new year goals. As she had said, goals and plans are unimportant when the we don't understand the meaning behind it. When our heart isn't goals, everything we do about it will be meaningless.

So Sarah shared about Positioning Yourself To Grow. She described everyone of us as a seed waiting to be germinated, emerging from a period of dormancy. A seed only germinates when the conditions are favourable for growth, in other words, when there is a presence of water, oxygen, light and warmth.

Every seed has a seed coat surrounding it that prevents the seed form breaking. It it through the cracks and the heat of the seed coat which allows the seed to absorb water. In the same way, only through the problems that God put in our lives can we mature and then be able to receive more of Jesus whom is the living water.

When we are unwilling to step out of our comfort zone and go through the trials and obstacles placed before us, we will not be able to grow more in Jesus Christ and let Him flow into us. When we align ourselves with God's plans, we are in the right position for growth. Trust and obey God.

In every seed, there are germination inhibitors that prevents the seed from growing before the conditions are right. In the same way, unless we recognise our situations and the need of those around us, our seed coat will never crack and we won't grow.

Every tree planted bears fruits filled with seeds. In the same way, we have to be the seeds that grow into trees to bear more fruits and disperse into our communities.

So GOP, here are some of our goals to help us grow:

God - Prayer
1) Attend High Voltage meetings (prayer meetings)
2) Start school cells to pray for the school (there is no better place to reach out for your friends)

Jesus - The Living Word
1) Complete the bible while you're still in GOP (knowledge is important)
2) Attend Daybreak (there's no place beter to learn about the bible)

Holy Spirit - Empowerment
Pray in tongues for 10-15minutes a day (build up your spirit man)

Me - Decisions
1) Do your QT everyday (spending time with God is key to your relationship with Him)
2) Save $1 a day
3) Study 14h hours a week

Others - Loving others
1) 1 to 1 in 1 (reaching out to our friends is still important!)
2) Let's achieve our goal of 200 GOPers
3) Love those in your family and school unconditionally by doing kind acts)

So GOP, let's start out the new year by bearing fruits that will disperse into our communities. Before we can do that, we have to grow individually in Christ. Live your life with purpose and follow the aims with meaning.

Hey GoP! I’m sure all of you have enjoyed Breakout camp and received your personal breakthrough from God! Let’s remain hungry and faithful in what God can do as He has so much more in plan for us for 2010! There were also many testimonies shared by our fellow GoPers who received a touch from God. We can sure confirm that God is moving mightily in our GoP.

During the camp, we have learned many new lessons from God, such as Saying Yes to God’s word, in which by doing so, you will be favoured, loved and protected by God in your quest at doing His work! Secondly, we have learnt to dine at God’s table. To dine means to be entertained at dinner, it does not mean the simple action of eating. Instead, you dine in a high class restaurant, and not at 7-11. God’s table provides many gifts for us, and we should all take time in enriching ourselves in Him and His gifts. Pastor Chris Long also shared about the power of the Name. Our own name contains a prophecy in us, and if we speak our name into the situation, the situation will turn in the direction however we speak it to be. Shaunster also shared about moment and opportunities and lastly, Pastor Mark wrapped up on Despise Not, in which this generation should not be despised because of our youth, speech or character and that we should not despise others in the same manner. Pastor Mark also shared about how he saw God performing an operation in which He removed a heart and replaced with a new version of a heart. God had indeed GoP a new heart to run this race!

Durin the service, Shaunster shared on a short message. The main focus was on Genesis 38, on the story of Judah and Tamar. Judah had 3 sons, Er, Onan and Shelah. Judah took a wife, Tamar and wanted to marry her to his sons. Unfortunately, for Er, he was wicked in God’s sight, and God put Him to death. Onan also displeased God, and God slewed him. The only left was Shelah, but he was too young to marry. Tamar soon travelled away, and she covered herself with a veil. Judah, also walked down the same road, and lay with Tamar, as he could not see her face, and got her pregnant. In return, Judah gave Tamar his signet, and bracelets, and staff. When Judah saw that Tamar was pregnant, he was really angry, and wanted to burn her. However, Tamar showed Judah his signet, bracelets and staff he had given her. Judah acknowledged her for being more righteous than he, and Tamar gave birth to twins, Pharez, who came out first and Zarah next .

The symbolic meaning in this scripture is that Pharez means to ‘breakout’, and it was from Judah, whom he broke out. Judah means ‘praise’, and we only want to breakout from praise. Onan means ‘own strength’ and Er means ‘own vision’. Hence, we do not want to break out if our own strength and our own vision, but through praise! So, praise God no matter what circumstance and situation we are in, and everything that He has done for us. So, let’s leave with praise in out hearts as we head towards 2010!

city on a hill

HEY GOP!

Hope that you had come for today's service because Sarah Lin had shared an awesome sermon about our camp verse, Matthew 5: 13-16.

Firstly, it is stated that we have to be like a city on a hill. A city represents bright lights and the hill represents elevation. We have to be a generation of elevation.

Elevation is like a hill, high up where our light can shine brightly for everyone to see. We have to be that light for everyone.
Elevation is also moving higher and higher. Just like that, our youth group has to be constantly growing, continuously doing our quiet time.
Elevation is also making the people around us happy, lifting the moods of others around us. We have to affect the community that way, giving off a positive atmosphere.
Elevation also means rising in pitch and volume. We cannot be a quiet generation if we want to impact others. We have to speak out in love, raising our volume in praising God.

It is more blessed to give than to receive.

Secondly, we cannot let our light be covered by a bowl! We have to let our light shine brightly and not let it be extinguished by fear, sin, bad thoughts or past bad experiences. We cannot let our light be extinguished by fear of loneliness and insecurities, bad habits or giving up from the lack of motivation. There is a story behind every face in the community and it's our job to find that need. A bad attitude and spirit leads to a worthless outcome. It is not about ourselves but others. God will always bless us when we give.

There are many needs around us and all we have to do is not turn a blind eye to them. Community is personal and has to come from the heart!

So GOPers, think about it. What is your motivating factor? What is the reason why we help the people around us? Do it not for yourselves but for others. Increase our love capacity because it's through us that love flows from God to those around us. So show love to those around us because we love because He first love us.

Hey GoP! Hope you guys had an enjoyable service! Today, Rachel preached on Mercy and Compassion. It is also based on this year’s camp theme, community! In order to be a vessel of mercy and compassion, the most important thing that we should know is that it cannot be taught, it can only be caught!

In order to have mercy and compassion, we must acknowledge ourselves that we are loved by God and we are never of low value. What the world throws or says to us are lies, everyone is made wonderfully and beautifully by God! We can further reinforce this by Ephesians 2:10 “For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do” This scripture can split into 2 parts.

The first, “For we are God's workmanship” sums up ho we are and what we are here for. Did you know that workmanship equates to masterpiece?! Say for an artist, a masterpiece to him or her is the most precious, priceless artwork that they are most proud of and sacrificed the most for. The world famous painting, Mona Lisa by Leonardo Da Vinci, was considered his masterpiece; he even sacrificed 14 years of his life into creating it! So just like Da Vinci’s masterpiece, we are each masterpieces of God! Say, a $50 note. If you crush it, stomp on it and bury it, its value still stays the same! So, in this way, no matter what people say to us or hurt us, we are still of the same priceless value! Your value cannot be changed, and god carries each of us close to His heart!

The latter scripture, “created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do” tells us that we are here to do His good works, and which He has even planned for us even before we were conceived in our mother’s womb! So, each of you must know that there is some good work out there that God has in plan for you to do, which it cannot be replaced! Only you are entitled to do that good work. In order to good works, we must know and experience that we are loved greatly by God!

In Ephesians 3:17-19 “so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, ¹⁸may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, ¹⁹and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God” , sums it up.

His love for us is wide, long, high and deep, and surpasses knowledge! Now it may be confusing that we know that God’s love for us surpasses knowledge, however, the earlier “know” refers to experiencing it! With this, we can now do the good works which God has prepared for us in advance.

So, you might be wondering what good works you may do, it may serving in a ministry, or acts of mercy. We should all follow what God has placed in our hearts, be it a passion or a cry for mercy when you see a certain a situation. For example, you feel touched every time you hear a case of the elderly being abused; this may be what God has placed in your heart, and may develop into your good work of helping the elderly!

Good works can be in all sorts of ways, and the Bible has plenty of reasons why you should do good works. In Proverbs 19:17, it says that “He who is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward him for what he has done.” In Proverbs 28:27, “He who gives to the poor will lack nothing, but he who closes his eyes to them receives many curses.” For not giving to the poor, one will be cursed. The Bible indicates the seriousness of giving to the poor, for they are all God’s people. In 2 Corinthians 1:3-4, “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, ⁴who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.” God will comfort us so that we are able to comfort those in trouble!

So, GoP, follow what God has placed in your heart to do the good works He has planned for us! <3!

GOP fiesta

HEY GOP!!!

Hope that you didnt miss this week's service!! There were many many many friends invited and many salvations too! For those people who had made it, hope that you had a blast because I'm sure that most did =) And I hope that no one left the fiesta regretting not inviting their friends.

The service started with an awesome praise and worship followed by the screening of the movie, THE DEAL, which was a local production by our very own Singaporeans! It was a true story about how a woman's life was changed drastically by her relationship with God. It was a very inspirational movie that's for sure.

The movie was then followed by a sharing by Pastor Mark about the reality of God and how much He can change our lives. Also that God gives us gifts in moderation and there is a reason why we are not all Bill Gates but neither are we all living on the streets. Because we have a God who cares about us no matter what and knows what's best for us. After that, alter call was received by many many newcomers which is of course, a cause for celebration!

After our new GOPers had left the room, Isaac interviewed our very own GOPer, Elizabeth a.k.a. Choobie who taught us all a new self defense technique called, Konnichiwa. This technique included a way of not only attacking our opponent but confusing them with our first response, the word, "HUH?".

Everyone then went down to the GOP FIESTAAAAAAAAA!!! The party started with a game of piniata where elmo's head was decapitated followed by many games such as hit-the-cans, go fish etc. There were lots of laughs and many people got wet but overall it was a blast.

Church is not all about the fun and games though. Let's thank God for all the salvations this week and thank Him for always watching over us, giving us what we need and not always what we want. So GOPers, go out and reach out to your friends who need God because He certainly performs miracles in our lives.

Today Isaac had a short message on what God has in plan for our ministry and what we should do to build this new Generation of Promise! Although we did not have a proper service, we sure experienced the presence of God and His boundless love! I’m sure many of you received a touch from God and experienced His love in a whole new level.

God also gave us a vision to be expectant for many new things to come! What you have just experienced during service is just a small portion of what He has in plan for us. Issac also shared about God’s promise to us that “you will never walk alone”.

No matter what situation you are in, however deep or shallow it is, God will never forsake you. He will be with us in every step we take in building this ministry. In addition, obedience is also the key in building this ministry. For example, God asks you to take the path on the right, but you insist on your own understanding and take the middle path, we are never going to achieve His plans for a new ministry.

So GoP, remember that obedience is vital. Even the simplest thing such as obeying your parents to pack your bed is important! In addition, David was just obeying by delivering cheese to the battlefield, and who knew He ended up slaying Goliath!

Another important factor is unity; A building can only stand on its own only when every brick is in its proper place. Good desires unity amongst GoP to moving towards a common vision. So, if you have something against someone, hurry up and patch it up before it’s too late. God has also instructed us to be patient. If someone can’t do something proper, let’s be patient and give him or her time, and they are sure to achieve it!

God has shown us what He can really do, and this is just a portion of what He will do! So GoP, thank you for being hungry and faithful for God. Please continue to maintain this attitude for God, for those who haven’t reached it yet, do build up your hunger for Him; the train is about to arrive, and you would certainly not want to miss it!

Hey Gop! This week Issac preached about The Core; What is the condition of your bones? Did you ever know that there’s a reason why people do and don’t things? The answer is that it all boils down to the condition of your bones! Sermon is available here!

In 2^nd Kings 13:20, “Elisha died and was buried. Now Moabite raiders used to enter the country every spring. ²¹Once while some Israelites were burying a man, suddenly they saw a band of raiders; so they threw the man's body into Elisha's tomb. When the body touched Elisha's bones, the man came to life and stood up on his feet.” I’m sure all of you will be definitely hungry and enthusiastic of how God can work miracles! In the bible, it states that King Elijah performed 8 miracles in his life, and Elisha, his disciple and attendant to Elijah, was prophesised to perform 16 miracle-twice the amount if Elijah in his lifetime. However, Elisha only performed 15 miracles when he was still alive. So where and when did the last miracle happen? Of course, it happened when he was dead; when the body of the dead man was thrown into his grave, when it touched Elisha’s bones, the man was resurrected! SO that was the 16^th miracle. This shows that can work in His ways unexpectedly and unconditionally.

In this case, we can certainly determine the condition of Elisha’s bones-as anointed and Holy Spirit Bones! So, what is the condition of your bones? God wants us to strengthen our bones, and as bones are deeper than what’s outside. We may look all good and polished on the outside, but inside, we may have rotting, decaying bones. So, God always wants something inside of us, not outside. All our bones have a partner; the Holy Spirit!

In Galatians 3, it says that we should not pursue fleshy desires, but rather that of the Spirit. If we walk a different path than what God intended for us to do, we stray away from Him, and it weakens our bones. Satan is like a parasite to your bones. He makes lies and eats the core of your bones! So how do we build our core? In order to build our core, we must stay hungry! So how excited are we?

Get our bones strong! In order to achieve that, we mustn’t separate our matters from God. For example, God and our exams. We cannot take exams as a separate matter and attend to it and prioritize it as something ahead of God. We must put God first in everything that we do, and God and exams is one thing; where by God empowers us and helps us in our exams. So seek God first and His kingdom and His righteousness, and or else will be added unto you!

We should never be swayed by the lies of the devils and others! When we enter a room, we should not be affected by the temperature, but rather set the temperature! There is no standard of what our bone conditions should be like, but all we have to do is to stay hungry! God is also not done with certain things. God is looking for a generation that does not care about your status quo, for the devil can’t throw dirt at what God is not done with! Do not say it’s over when it’s not over! So let’s put aside the lies of Satan and focus on God!

In the example of Joshua and Caleb, they were going to enter the Promised Land, and were called upon to fight against 40 cities! To prepare them, God gave them milk and honey. This may seem like a hopeless and ridiculous situation, but do not underestimate what God has in plan for us. You may have not realised the symbolic importance of milk and honey, but they were crucial in helping them enter the Promised Land. So, do not be weakened by whatever the situation is like, for the Devil can’t throw dirt at what God is not done with! Furthermore, when we look at ourselves, we have to realize that each of us is beautiful and unique in their own ways, for God has made us in His image. We are only defined by God, not what others say or what Satan does to us.

So GoP, let’s stay hungry and build up our core! :D

partnering heaven for earthly transformation

HEY GOP!!!!

Hope you did not miss this week's service! Isaac was not around so Shaunster shared a great message about PARTNERING HEAVEN FOR EARTHLY TRANSFORMATION!

He started by sharing about how we should partner with the PERFECT!
The Heart of God is in His Sin, Jesus Christ. And that is where our heart should be too.

Exodus 21:1-6
[These are the laws you are to set before them: ... But if the servant declares, 'I love my master and my wife and children and do not want to go free', then his master must take him before the judges. He shall take him to the door or the doorpost and pierce his ear with an awl. Then he will be his servant for life]

The very same way, Jesus could have chosen to leave us on earth to die for our sins. But instead, because He loved His Father (master) and His wife (the church) and children (the children of the world, US!), he was PIERCED with a nail on the cross and willingly serve us for life [Matthew 20:28].

We have nothing to serve others unless we partner with Christ and be served by Him first. The outflow of our heart will only come from the inflow of Jesus' power to us.

[John 4:4-26, Psalms 40:6, Revelation 1:12]
Jesus had 3 purposes which was to Save, Minister and Serve! Jesus wants us to receive His blessings so that we in turn, can bless others because God's grace is sufficient. His grace is sufficient for us to live solely on it.

Secondly, we have to partner with PEOPLE!

Einstein teaches us E=MC2
But instead of just science, E=MC2 where EMPOWERMENT (salvation, annointing and faith) is equilavent to the MASS of the people multiplied by the CONNECTIVITY AND FLOW of the people!!

So GOP, let's reach for a dream of 150 people and 10 salvations on 14th November when we're having our MEGA EVANGELISTIC SERVICE!

How do we do that? DIG DEEPER!
1) Be real and have oneness
Be the same in school, at home and in church. Don't be a hypocrite but live your lives the way where people can see who you really are.

2) Be observant
Find a need, meet the need. Find a hurt, heal the hurt. Observe the people around you and help them with all you've got. Don't be reluctant but instead, reach out with all you have.

3) Be positive
Have a smile wherever you go! Don't take things negatively but know that God will see you through whatever happens. Be the light in everyone else's darkness =)

4) Be hungry
Be hungry to win souls! Be desperate to see your friends get saved. Don't give up on your friends, keep talking to them about Christ. (Do note that sharing and annoying are two different things)

5) Have confidence
You need to be confident to start where others are, not where you are. Dare to step out and live life the way others will know that you know what you're doing.

6) Have compassion
Instead of substaining from food, share with others the food that you have.

7) Be committed

[Luke 15 - The parable of the Lost sheep]
God will go all the way to rescue us. Will you go all the way to rescue your friends?

8) Enlarge!
Enlarge yourself to a greater capacity. Help out more in church, pray more, talk about Christ more! Live your life larger! God has given us the capacity to be so much more!

So GOPers, live your life with more happiness, positivity, confidence. Do your best in whatever you do and stay committed to it. Reach out to your friends and be someone people can count on! Let's partner with Jesus to reach out to our friends. Remember, 150 people with 10 salvations on 14th november! Let's live out our GoP dream together =)

Spiritual warfare 2

HEY GOP!

Hope that you didn't miss this week's evangelistic service! Sarah Lin preached about SPIRITUAL WARFARE part 2, mainly about [Ephesians 6:10-12].

We are fighting a spiritual battle and thus require weapons not like our usual swords and shield but by those that we can use in the spiritual realm.

Our weapons are:
1) The blood of Jesus!

Jesus' death was a spiritual battle itself. Jesus could have chosen not to die but had listened to His Father's will in the end. Just like how every decision that we make is a spiritual battle between our will and God's will for our lives.
Also, Jesus' blood saves us, heals us, cleanses us and sets us free.

2)Armour of God
We have to stand firm and hold our ground with the armour of God-

a) The Belt of Truth
Knowing the truth sets us free

b) The Breastplate of righteousness
Acting on the truth

c) The Helmet of Salvation
Protecting our minds and cleansing our thoughts with full focus on Jesus

d) The Shield of Faith
Being at the right place, at the right time, doing the right thing

e) The Shoes of the Gospel of Peace
Bringing good news wherever we go with the Word of God to calm thing down

f) The Sword of the Spirit
Our only attacking weapon, the Word of God which contains all the promises God has made to us

3) Prayer and praise

-Praise is declaring God's might and strength!
-Our prayers are always heard by God even if His answers are no because God knows best! [Jeremiah 29:12-14, Daniel 10:12]
-We have to pray at all times and at every occasion [Ephesians 6:18]
-No one understands tongues but God [1 Corinthians 14:2]
-Prayer diverts bad situations

Why do we have to be equipped?
Because Satan came to kill, steal and destroy

but we have God as our hope =)

THINGS WE CAN DO!
1) Pray for our leaders!
Satan knows our source of knowledge and would be able to make us vulnerable if the leaders are weak.
2) Support our leaders and be prepared at all times!
Numbers do not equal to strength. Quality is better than quantity thus we have to be mentally prepared for battle
[Judges 7] 22000 soldiers were cut down to the top 300 soldiers
3) We have to be accountable to our leaders!
We need the covering of our church because we do not stand alone. Together as one, can we take down more enemies

So GOP, remember to keep persevering on and do not forget to help out your leaders where neccessary. Keep praying and reaching out to your friends, don't give up because you have the whole GOP behind you all the way. You have God's hand over your lives so trust in Him and be perpared for battle =)

Spiritual Warfare 101

Hey GoP! Hope you enjoyed the service! This week Sarah Lin preached on Spiritual Warfare! And this sermon will tell us more about spiritual warfare, the manifestations of it, how to be prepared for it and exercising our spiritual authority. Please note that spiritual warfare is not to scare us, but to inform us and prepare us for it!

In Ephesians 6:10-12, it says that So, what is spiritual warfare? Anything Satan does to ruin God’s plan and will of our lives is spiritual warfare! God’s will of our lives is to make us prosper and have salvations! Also, it exists in the unseen spiritual realm.

Spiritual warfare can be manifested in many ways!

Firstly, it can be through spiritual possession or harassment, or through physical ailments, especially in the case if you have not forgiven someone for what he/she has done. It can also be manifested in the forms of attacks on a person’s thoughts and emotions. Sometimes out of the blue for no apparent reason you feel really down-such is an example. Another form of manifestation is with the relationships we have with people. You can be friends with someone and the next moment you can be quarrelling with him or her. This applies especially for the newcomers, so continue to pray for them after they have been saved; seal their salvation with prayer! Lastly, spiritual warfare can also manifest itself to be a dull life with God.

However, we cannot attribute everything that happens to us to spiritual warfare. For example, you’re feeling lethargic. Before you put the blame on Satan, ask yourself if you have been staying too late up for nights watching television.

To be prepared for spiritual warfare we need to be alert, and guard our minds. Do not always be in a blur. Satan has nothing new; he uses the same old tricks to scare you, except he just modifies an old trick so that you may think it looks new. Lastly, we must also know that we are not fighting against people!

So why are we not prepared for these battles? Because they do not exist in our lives, or because of ignorance, or we do not understand the spiritual authority that has been given unto us. In Mark 16:17-18, it states that all authority has been given unto us. The greater the rank, the greater the responsibility. Some people also say that big demons guard big treasures. As for each spiritual level we progress on, we face challenges different from other levels.

So in order to be prepared for spiritual warfare, we must walk in the spiritual authority that God has given unto us. Let us not block the spiritual authority given to us in order to be victorious!

So GoPers, let’s build ourselves up from the inside out, pray in tongues for at least 5 mins a day (:

HEY GOP!

I hope that you didn't miss this week's AWESOME service by Pastor Mark. His message was titled, THE LAST CALL, our third and last service of the theme, final destination, the series of services about the end times.

Pastor Mark begun by sharing about the two witnesses [Revelation 11:1-3]. In these verses, it is stated that after the rapture, two witnesses will rise up for God and torment the others on earth by telling them the truth about Jesus Christ! Anyone who would try to harm them would be struck down by fire.

But the beast from hell would be released and it would kill the two witnesses at the very place that Jesus died. Their bodies will be laid unburied and mocked by everyone, BUT HOPE IS NOT LOST! The two witnesses would revive from the dead after three and a half days and God will call them to heaven just like Enoch and Elijah.

Pastor Mark then talked about Jesus' second coming [Revelation 19:11-16, Jude 14-15]. Jesus will come down with an army of saints (THAT'S US) on white horses. [Zechariah 14:3-14] Jesus would step down on the mount of olives and SPLIT IT IN TWO!

Pastor Mark also continued by talking about the Battle of Armageddon [Revelation 16:12-16] which is another word for the GREAT battle between Jesus and Satan. It would be the largest battle ever fought with all sorts of weapons. But fear not, because the battle has already been won [Revelation 19:20]. jesus would throw the devil down into the bottomless pit for deluding everyone and an angel would lock him up.

Finally, Pastor Mark talked about the Millenium [Revelation 20:4] where Christ will rule for 1,000 years! [Matthew 19:28] He will sit on the the thrown and those who had died during the tribulation and did not possess THE MARK will be brought to life!

Pastor Mark had added a sharing on hell.
[Mark 9:43-48, Matthew 15:41, Matthew 13:40-42, Luke 16:23 and 2 Thessalonians 1:7-9]
It is a place of conscious suffering, torment and punishment! Imagine being burned by flames yet never being able to die. It was a place prepared by God for the devil and not for humans but sin was introduced.

The role of Israel would be to be the witnesses of Jesus Christ [Luke 21:20-26] where they would start to recognise the signs and then stand up for God!

Hear are some signs of Jesus' coming.

1) The sign of the fig tree [Matthew 24:32-34]
The reforming of Israel after destruction in 60AD. Israel was reformed in 1948! It was also stated that the generation of Israel that was reformed WILL witness the coming in their generation. If a generation is 78-80 years, the second coming might happen anytime from 2018-2028, though delays DO happen.

2) The sign of creation week
God spent 6 days creating earth and took a break for 1 day. If the time from Adam to Abraham was 2000 years and from Abraham to Jesus was 2000 years and from Jesus to Us be 2000 years, that would have been 6000 years in total. In the bible, it is said that 1 to God seems like 1000 days to us. If God worked for 6 days, what are the chances that He might let Jesus rule for the next 1000 years!

So GOPers, do not treat all that we've learnt these past weeks as some other information learnt during history lesson. TIME IS RUNNING OUT! Have we completed our purpose here on earth? Have we reached our destiny? Do we want to see our friends in hell?? If you've answered no to any of them, THEN IT'S TIME TO BUCK UP! Treat everyday like it would be your last, live a fruitful life and leave without regrets. Don't forget that everyone else will be by your side so don't give up and keep evangelising!

the great tribulation

HEY GOPers!

hope you were here this saturday to catch Aunty Aye Lan's awesome message about "THE GREAT TRIBULATION"! [Revelations 6-18][Matthew 24:21]

Here's a recap on what she had shared. She had shared about how our church, Emmanuel Assembly of God, believes that rapture will happen before the tribulations. [Luke 17:28-34][Matthew 24:37-41]

[2 Thessalonians 2] God will save the Gentiles (that's us!) during the rapture!

After the rapture, an Anti-Christ, the beast, will rise up and seem to bring stability among the countries after the chaos caused by the rapture. He will command the respect of so many people that he will start to demand worship from the people on earth.

[Revelation 17] The Anti-Christ would then by accompanied by a false prophet (religious leader) who would seem to have healed the Anti-Christ from great "wound". Idols would then be created of the beast.

After this, God, being the god of wrath, would release the seven seals of judgement upon the earth. There would be great calamity and wrath that even we cannot imagine at this time. A quarter of the world's population would be wiped out then.

[1 Thessalonians 5:2-3] Destruction will come when everyone thinks there is peace and safety.

Satan // God
Anti-Christ // Jesus
Religious Leader // Holy Spirit

THE MARK
[Revelations 13:16-18, 14:9, 14:11, 15:2, 16:2, 19:20, 20:4]
Everyone will receive the mark of the beast and will have it's number of his name on their foreheads or wrists: 6 hundred 3 score and 6

The mark is created by the beast as satan desires worship! The rightful thing that belongs to God. [Isaiah 14:13-14] Satan fell because he had wanted to be God!

But have hope because according to [Revelations 14:1], there will be a mark of God! And in [Revelation 15:2], it says that many people on earth would have victory over the mark!

so Fear God and keep His commandments [Ecclesiates 12:13]

a. Pleasing God in all that you do (1 Thessalonians 4)
b. Going to church regularly, fellowshipping (Hebrew 10:25)
c. Loving one another (1 Thessalonians 3:12-13)
d. Read and share the word (2 Timothy 4:2-5)
e. Be concerned with the issues of heaven (Colossians 3:14)
f. Use your God-given talents (2 Timothy 1:6-7, Luke 19:11-16, Matthew 25:14-29)

In other words, treasure your time wisely on earth [Psalms 90:12][Ephesians 5:16]. Not only because we may get raptured any day soon but nobody lives forever. So make everyday of yours be purposeful and let your deeds count in the kingdom of God. Judgement day may come anytime soon and I'm sure we all want piles of gold instead of ashes. So come on GOP, let's continue to reach out to our friends, don't give up.

Follow Up

Dear GoPers,

Hope you all are doing alright. Just wanted to do a follow up on the weekend services. Many of us have responded to the altar on wanting a renewal of a deeper relationship with God. This can only happen when everything on Saturday/Sunday was not simply lip service to God but one of action. Just to recap a little on Sunday's message (esp for those who missed service). Ps Jonathan shared on 4 ways we can keep our heart pure:

1. Sanctification of the Blood of Christ
2. Application of the Word of God
3. Submission to the guidance of the Holy Spirit
4. Inspiration hope of the second coming of Christ

This really ties in with what Aunty Aye Lan shared on Saturday. While we know what the Bible says about all that's going to happen in the End Times, we need to be living a pure victorious christians. Remember that if we are neither hot nor cold, God will spit us our of His mouth (Rev 3:16).

Again, this is the basic spiritual discipline we need to instil through the week. Reading His Word, hiding His Word in our hearts and applying it. Praying and building our spirit up. Not letting sin entangle us and hinder God's work in and through our lives. Let us keep ourselves set apart for His use. Let us be faithful in these little things thru the week and be expectant of the greater things that will come in our services and our lives. We should be always progressing towards God and never be stagnant/lagging behind. Encourage each other in this journey and be a blessing to each other in our speech, actions and thoughts. Finally, let me end of with this verse found in Philippians 4:8

"Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things."

We have heard the word and now it is time to apply. Take God's Word into our circles of influence and live it out. Let us be a blessing in everything that we do. Keep strong, champions!!!

Rapture or Rupture

Hello GoP, this week Aunty Aye Lan preached on the rapture! And we know the rapture IS happening from Hebrews 9:28, where it states “To bring salvation for those who have been waiting for Him” Indeed, Jesus is coming back!

Where does the word “rapture” be derived from? True enough, if you check the entire bible, the word “rapture” is not stated at all!
‘Rapture’: caught up [harpazo in greek]
snatch away [rapturo in latin]

In 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17, it tells us that the dead will rise first, and the living next! Furthermore, in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-15, it tells us that we should ignorant to those who die (v13), and He will come down from Heaven (v16), in which the dead rise first (v16).

When will the rapture come? The truth is, no one knows for sure and only God knows, in 1 Thessalonians 4:13 it says that “He will come like a thief in the night”, so just when everyone is peaceful, He will come most unexpectantly. Furthermore, in Matthew 24:36 it says that “No one knows about the day or hour”, not even the angels, nor His son, but only the Father!

The bible also tells us that there have been people who did not die a physical death, instead they just disappeared! Two such people were Enoch (Genesis 5:24) and Elijah (2 Kings 2:11).

So what happens during the rapture?
1.In Corinthians 15:51, that “we shall not all sleep”, where sleep refers to a physical death, but rather we get caught up.
2. When we are raptured, we shall all be changed! In 1 Corinthians 15:53-54, it tells us that “we will take on an imperishable body” and the “mortal will be clothed with immortality”. During the rapture, it will happen in the twinkling of an eye (vs 52), and a trumpet will be sounded (vs 52). In the bible, trumpets are used to represent battles or worship.

So what signs are there to look out for that the rapture is nearing? The bible states that false Christs, wars and rumours of wars, famines, earthquakes, persecution, many will grow cold (But he who stands firm will be saved),the Gospel being preached to the entire world are all some examples.

So what does the rapture mean to us? In 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24, it says that we must keep our spirit, soul and body blameless before Him. Therefore, we should commune with our spirit and build it up! What will us be tested on in front of the seat of God? In 1 Corinthians 3:10-15, it says that we will tested by what we produce during our lives. So let us live by Faith and not by sight!

CFC combined prayer

Hey GOP-ers!

So this saturday was our CFC COMBINED PRAYER, TRUE HEARTS! It's in replacement of our annual overnight prayer in conjunction to our 40 day fast =) It was a really hardcore prayer night and the atmosphere was just so charged up. Before prayer, Shaunster shared about AAA! Access to All Areas of God's kingdom!

God wants to make CHAMPIONS out of us, we have to live life like we have the kingdom within us because God lives in us!

[Matthew 26:41] [Isaiah 59:1] [2 Chronicles 7:14]
God listens to ALL our prayers. Sometimes NO is His answer but He still answers all our prayers in His time. Our flesh does not understand the need for prayer but our Spirit Man is SUPERNATURAL and has to built through PRAYER!! Our prayer has to change from silent to VIOLENT because it says in the bible, the violent will take the kingdom by force!

[Matthew 7:7-8]
Ask! we have to realise who has the power and we have to be persistent in asking!
Seek! we have to keeep seeking til the object which we persue is found!
Knock! it is a violent and aggresive action that we all have to take!

[Acts 4:31]
THERE MUST BE SHAKING IN THE PLACE WHEN WE PRAY!!

[John 7:37-39]
Drink from Jesus! We need the power of God to achieve the impossible!

The Holy Spirit was described in the bible as gentle and pure, unseen but felt, the living water, an atmosphere. In other words, the Holy Spirit can be experienced! We create a spiritual environment when we pray in the Spirit which is praying in tongues! When our flesh is weak, it is when our Spirit Man is strongest!

Prayer enlarges us! We may be small on the outside or have no status, but when we pray, we are a giant inside!! Prayer empowers us! He gives us the strength to shake the place we pray at!!

[Psalm 24]
The earth is the Lord's, He owns EVERYTHING. And He gave everything He had to His son, Jesus, who now lives in us! We thus have an ACCESS to ALL AREAS of His kingdom! We have the power to claim the souls of those around us.

So GOP-ers, we have the power to claim our friends' lives. God lives within us and has given us the access to every part of His kingdom which now lives in us! In Shaunsters words, Do not be afraid like a small anorexic kitty but be the large saber-tooth tiger!!

After the sharing, we had an hour plus of praying which was split into 3 segments: praying for ourselves, for the people around us and then for Singapore. It was such a powerful time of prayer and the atmosphere was so filled with God's presence. So GOP-ers, never forget the importance of prayer =) Do come down next saturday for an awesome sharing!

HEY GOP!!!!

If you had missed this Saturday's service then you sure had missed out on an AMAZING Word shared by Isaac. It was basically a recap from Pastor Ang's 40th Anniversary message except that it is focused on what we, from Generation Of Promise, can do to apply the theme.

This year's 40th anniversary theme is GO FORTH! To Rise in Faith, Reach Out in Mercy and to Reap in Love!! Isaac shared first about how we should Rise in Faith!

[Mark 16]
all AUTHORITY and POWER has been given to us!

GO stretches our boundaries. To GO is to move forward, it is a movement and action!

EVERYONE has the authority and power to move on. We are like the policemen whom God had placed a badge on to have the authority to control traffic.

It's time we take OWNERSHIP of the positions God has placed us in because we are good enough. What we have been doing is not enough for God. So it's time that we stop believing Satan's lies and know that we are good enough to be able to take charge of situations.

Even if you are not a leader it doesn't mean you cannot lead! We means everyone, which means we ALL take ownership of what God has placed into our hands. Like our friends, and families lives!

We can take on the world. We have to start taking ownership. We have to trust God and have faith that He has given us the power to BE THE CHANGE!!

We are chosen by God! Our church can be the change. You don't have to be from city harvest to impact other's life because God has chosen us too! We have to start acting in our ministry of reaching out to the world 7 days a week!

Like the song Healer by Michael Guglielmucci was then played. Even though it had been a scandal and he was ashamed of admitting his real problems, he had stepped out in faith to tell the world the truth!

Isaac then shared about how we should Reap in Love.

It was mainly about how much God loves us and that we should be able to love everyone around us the same way. We have wonderful cell leaders who love us and if we are able to love those around us that way, they would be able to trust us.

Creating trust between each other is important in our church as it brings forth unity. When we stand united, even if one of us is facing a problem in life, we know that we can turn to the others for help. With that love and support, Satan will not be able to bring us down that easily.

Reap in Love. Create a bond between you and your friends so that you can confide in them and create trust together.

Listen up those who werent in church camp. IMPT. (:
here it goes:
the vision i got during church camp. i saw a picture of a red car, looks like a ferrari, hahas,
then it was positioned on a long road, the road had like curves, up and down, and it was straight,
and the weather was amazingly nice, and as i stayed and observe the picture, the voice said,
GoP is like that red ferrari., everyone is a part of that car, and only 20-30 parts of the car caught the fire the vision and
wants to move, wants to go and run after it, but the other parts didnt , and thus, the whole car cant move, cant move into greater things
and what God has planned for it, if our attitude is right and we really want to move,
lets spread the fire, lets catch the vision and run together, we have a long road to go, but we know that we are on the right track
because the weather is good, everything is going smooth,
i believe that there's not much time to waste, lets get fired up and run! (: so excited and you should too(:

Wednesday prayer!

Hey GoP!!!!!

Here are notes from the Wednesday Prayer that we had this week :)

1)The Acknowledgement

Luke 11:1-2

-Instead of asking Jesus how to deliver people, do miracle healings and building a church, they asked him how to pray!

-Disciples acknowledged that pray was important and the basis of everything that was done.

2)The Importance

"Prayer strikes the winning blow; Service is just picking up the pieces" - Some famous man.

-As i shared, the prayer meeting is THE service!

Mat 21:12-13

-In this verse where Jesus fipped the tables, he talked about how His house should be a house of Prayer!

-Notice that not a house of miracles, house of riches, house of mouse etcetc

-At that time, Jesus did what he could to keep the temple as a house of prayer by flipping the tables!

-Today's context, what are the tables we need to flip in GoP AND in our own lives!

-Time to bring prayer out of the basement!!

3)The Power

Mat 21:14

-The very verse RIGHT after the tables were flipped, miracles took place!

-Even the devil acknowledges the power of prayer, thats why he does everthing he can to stop us from praying: making it seem boring, laziness, tv etc

-Are we going to buy in or press in? Are we going to finally decide to flip the tables of slandering, gossiping etcetc ?

Closing

-Why pray 5 hours everyday when we still hold on to bitterness, hatred, anger, revenge?

-All we need to do is flip the tables that has stopped the house from becoming a house of prayer!!

-Remember the 10 salvations we had in one week(or month), and exactly the same week we had an awesome prayer meeting!

Envisioning

-envision people flooding into our corridoors

-envision the Power of God being felt through the whole servie

-envision God using us to do his work

-Envision crazily big and mighty things God has planned for GoP!

-Stop limiting what you envision, because God can just do MORE than you IMAGINE POSSIBLE!

So this is the point form of the sharing, I hope everyone just begin to take prayer into a new level on a personal and corporate level. Remember to share with your cells for the people who were present!

breaking barriers

HEY GOP!!!!

Were you here for today's service?? Pastor Jonathan shared about breaking barriers! It has been amazing services back to back so do try to come every saturday =)

Today's preaching was about how our age does not affect how much of a difference we make but what we have in us! [1 Timothy 4:12] We are put where we are for a purpose!!

[2 King 5:1-17]
These are some things we can learn about the little servant girl in the story.

1) We have to break through the obstacles of HATRED and PREJUDICE!
The girl was captured and forced to serve Naaman but yet instead of being filled with hatred, she helped him!
[Romans 12:20-21] When we help others who have done wrong, we are "burning coals on their head". We are filling them with guilt, leading them to repentance and thus salvation.

2) We have to break through the obstacles of COLDNESS and INDIFFERENCE!
The girl was not indifferent to the need of her master.
We have to be the person who cares, not cold hearted but meeting and need and healing the hurt!

3) We have to break through the obstacles of FAILURE and INFERIORITY!
The girl was a YOUNG girl and yet she was not afraid to speak out and tell her master of what she believed in.
We have to use the smallest of talents we are given because we can ALL contribute! We should all possess the confidence to say that Jesus is our saviour!!

4) We have to break through the obstacles of TIMIDITY and FEAR
The girl was unafraid to step out in faith and reach out to her master even though there was a possibility that he would not be cured! She took that step of faith.
Our trust in God as to be greater than our fear! God is in full control, not us =)

So GOPers, do not let our barriers stand in the way of reaching out to our family and friends. We all have the Holy Spirit and God's strength in us! So dare to step out and be unafraid of fulfilling God's purpose and destiny for your life. Keep the faith and enjoy the rest of the holidays =)

Dear GoPers,

It was an amazing 3rd birthday bash we had last saturday. We hit more than 100 people and there seemed to be more newcomers than regulars. Great job on inviting your friends. I am sure that all of you have started your holidays.Yes, i understand that there are CCAs, remedials, holiday HW etc etc...but yet another chance to impact your friends in school and to invite them to church

Let me challenge you that while you are on this break, spend more quality time with God. We often say that we are too busy and tired out during the school term, so now it is time for us to make it up to God. Let's not give God our least but rather our best. He deserves it. Amen?

Those who are going for church camp... be expectant. If we don't expect anything, we will get nothing. Begin to ask yourself what you want to get from the camp. The camp can be as impactful as what you want out of it. If you are going there just for the fun only, then you'll be missing out a great deal. God wants us all to have a rich inheritance... not in terms of material inheritance but a spiritual one. So don't miss out on it.

Those who aren't going...don't worry. Whatever we learnt, we shall bring back to the rest of you. This is how we keep us all on the same page. No one gets left behind. Don't feel sad that you may miss out on something great. Because i know of our God to be a omni-present. You can receive an encounter with Him even in your bedroom.

GoPers, continue to shine for Him and never let anyone despise you of your youth. Run on and be strong and courageous.

Yesterday was cell service day =) There was praise and worship, a message from Sarah Lin, communion and the rest of the time left to spend with your cells. So this is just a recap on what Sarah Lin had shared yesterday...

Remember in 2007 we named our camp “Influenza”? I think by now all of us would have heard of H1N1, more commonly known as Swine Flu… and that’s a real influenza that’s going on currently elsewhere in the world.

Out of respect of what the country and government is doing about the Swine Flu, the church will be following governmental directives and will be refraining from
1) Shaking of hands
2) Close body contact ( hugs & such )
3) Sharing of food/drinks ( which we looove doing)

If you are currently wondering what this whole entire fuss is about the Swine Flu, especially when Singapore has not gotten any confirmed cases... Just to provide you a few fun facts. In 1918 to 1919, there was the outbreak of what was called the “Spanish Flu” – and that flu alone took the lives of around 20 to 100 million people (to put this into context, Singapore has a population of 4.84 million people J). Thank God influenzas from then have not been so devastating. But because of the nature of flu and new strains will pop out because of mutation over certain number of years, there is actually the prediction that there would be another flu pandemic happening soon, and we actually don’t know if this one is it.

Anyways, the above is not scare us into thinking that it’s possible that the end of the world comes through a flu (imagines severe sniffing and trails of mucus), but to let us know the possible implications because of this H1N1. And obviously, as good citizens of Singapore, we have always been educated that prevention is better cure.

Please understand that this is not done out of fear, we’re pretty fearless but out of our responsibility as citizens, MOH Ministry of Health has given out clear directives below so we need to be wise in our actions and activities. For the best balance, we must do all things in LOVE & FAITH and under the counsel of the Holy Spirit.

So ,if any of us are sick (fever, flu ,cough) please inform your comm/leaders for accountability and prayer , and do rest at home if necessary.

Let us shine in the midst of this current darkness, and live not in fear but in
-Power (through prayer & anointing)
-LOVE (for others around and youself) &
-Sound Mind/ Discipline
(think positive and be disciplined to take care of your health, eat and sleep well!)

HEY GOP!

How has your week been? Hope you were at prayer meeting today!! Here's roughly what Shaunster had shared today =)

He talked about how prayer was like the exchange zone during a relay race. We have to be warmed up and ready to receive the baton. The runner cannot be too fast neither can the receiver be too slow.

[Psalm 57:7-8]
1) I'm ready!
-being ready is not preparing ourselves
-being ready means that we have to already be prepared

2) Raise a tune
-we are not a quiet religion
-we have to sing our praises out loud

3) Wake up!

4) Sleepyhead sun/the dawn
-we must have discipline in everything we do!

[Psalm 51:11]
David was not concerned about his riches and wealth but the presence of God and the Holy Spirit!! The presence of God shapes thoughts and attitude.

We are called to shape the thoughts and attitudes of other. People without the presence of God is pointless!

The Holy Spirit on the other hand is the power and life of everything! People without the Holy Spirit is dead because He brings life into us.

Imagine someone giving you a million dollars for no reason. It is the transaction of something undeserved like God's love and the death of Jesus on the cross. Keep in that period of time at every prayer meeting and stay in that attitude of worship.

[Amos 5:21]
we are here for God and nothing else! When was the last time we did anything just for God?

So how is all this related? Prayer is positioning ourselves! Dont miss the mark people! We are called to be the light of the world, the direction for others. Can we lead others if we hide our lamp? We have to bring people to us through the movement of out light! Which is our relationship with God!

Prayer positions ourselves so that we can have oppurtunities! Every oppurtunity should be taken and not missed to being moments. Moments lead to momentum and soon it brings movement! The movement of light! We have to have confidence in our faith and be faithful in our prayer if we want to be able to move and reach out to others!

So enjoy yourself for the rest of the week GOP but do not forget what we're focusing on. Dont miss the mark, grab hold of every oppurtunity. Prayer is important so never stop talking to God. Take care. Loves.

It was wednesday prayer meeting yesterday and hope you were there to catch the awesome sharing by nelson and the video by shaunster =)

Nelson shared about OUR IDENTITY! We have to spend time with God to claim His promises. We have to examine, study and apply the word of God in our life! [Psalm 119:9-16]]

Let us not be satisfied with our current lives, look for growth and allow yourself to stretch by producing fruits in your life. There is so much more we can do in our lives but we have to learn how to change and take a step further.

We have to change our negative speech to positive speech as our words have the power to change the moods of others. We can do so by keeping a positive attitude filled with positive thoughts! We affect others by what we say so watch out for the words that leave our mouth.

God will always be there for us so don't sit around and wait for someone to cheer you on. Encourage yourself! We are strong with the WORD OF GOD! It is our only offense! So how is this relevant to our identity?

READ THE WORD OF GOD! We have to know ourselves and recognise ourselves as God's people by reading what the Word says. [John 15:15, Romans, Galatians]] Recognise our identity in Christ!

So Shaunster showed us a video about the history of the bible. It has gone through so many persecution and many people were banned from reading it. Others were even burnt at stake with their very own bibles. So treasure the word of God, don't neglect what we have in front of us.

Hey GoP:

Reminder that we will be having a study break from Daybreak Classes.

From the 13th April to the *16th of May 09.

Lessons resume on the *16th/17th of May.
*(Date may change due to school exams timetable)

So Guys, use this break to really study and prepare for your exams.

The bible calls us to be the "Salt and Light of the World " - but we wont be so salty and bright if we dont do well in school. Our Education is very important. we need to work at it so that "all men may see our good works and give Glory to our Father in Heaven" - and to make our parents proud and also for Ourselves.

I really believe that all of us, when we try and put our heart and might into preparing and studying.. we will reap a great reward. amen :)

Also Guys. could you be so awesome and remember to pass your exam schedules to your cell leaders :) that would be fantastic!

Also as we study.. remember to always "seek first the Kingdom of God" - constantly do your QT and always be in Prayer, when our spiritual life is good and our foundation is strong, God is able to use us and build us up. :)

God today was mighty awesome, He is always the Awesomest, and you people are awesome too! Let’s keep up with the good response during service, with our YES and AMENS and cheering everytime we turn to the Word because there is definitely power in agreement and unity! :D

Today Shaunster preached an amazing sermon about The Ultimate Movie, base on a real story: The life of Jesus. And here’s what he shared!

1. The Story

In Genesis 1:1, God shared created the heavens and the Earth.

-Later He created mankind, Adam and Eve. But in Genesis 3, Adam and Eve ruins the supreme vision of God by commiting sin.

-All the way back to the Bible, in Revelation 21:3, God creates the new Earth and the new Heaven, and has come to dwell with us. His vision is finally fulfilled. What about the rest of the Bible? It’s all about you and the extent of what God will do to get us back!

2. Director’s cut

1^st Peter 3:15 tells us that “Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.”

-“Defence” in Greek is “Apologia”. It means a defence of conduct and procedure

-Apologetics: is to present a rational basis for the Christian faith and defend the faith against objections and it is everyone’s responsibility; to give an adequate answer when people question our faith. We should be spiritually strong, to be able to defend our faith with the Truth.

If you believe the Word, you will find Truth!

-Things about the Christian faith

a)The Christian faith is also an objective faith. The values of Christianity is not based on the one believing, but based on the one believed in! Christianity is only meaningful when Christ is inside. Without Christ, Christianity would mean nothing!

b)The Christian faith is also not a subjective one. Christianity is either the highest certainty or the greatest delusion, that is, either you believe or you don’t. Why is that so? The Christian line of faith is drawn so clear you either have a choice to believe in it or not! Make a stand!

3. Bonus Features

2 Vantage points of the ultimate movie

a)This point is from the devil’s eyes, just before the crucifixion. As Jesus was arrested and carried by the soldiers, the devil looks onwards. As they beat and flog Him, the devil just looks onwards, breaking out into the widest grin you could ever imagine. And as they nail Jesus onto the cross painfully, with each nail in His hands and one for His leg, the devil is so elated at the scene in front of His eyes. As Jesus lay on the cross at Calvary, He musters up His last strength, pulls Himself up for the last time to take in His last breath, his heart head racing, His heart pounding at the sympathy and love He bears for this world, He yells:”IT IS DONE!” The devil immediately returns to Hell, and calls for all demons/evil angels to report to a conference. Upon the largest stage you can ever imagine, his face develops a smirk, thinking the battle is over.

b)This scene is through Jesus’ eyes, just before the crucifixion. Jesus was arrested and carried by the soldiers. He bears the pain for every single stroke of flogging and whipping. The soldiers then nail Jesus onto the cross painfully, with each nail in His hands and one for His leg. As Jesus lay on the cross at Calvary, He musters up His last strength, pulls Himself up for the last time to take in His last breath, his heart head racing, His heart pounding at the sympathy and love He bears for this world, He yells:” IT IS DONE!”

But it doesn’t just end right there! When Jesus died He went down with Him every single committed in the past, present and every sin that will be committed into the future. The wrath of the Lord burned against Him in a large wave and crushed Him in the deepest darkness. It’s not just darkness, it's the DEEPEST DARKNESS! BUT when Jesus was in Hell, when the devil was about to make a victory announcement, Jesus gate crashed the conference, stormed to the stage, took the devil by the leg and threw him onto the ground, and read Genesis 3:14 to the Devil:” You will crawl on your belly and you will eat dust all the days of your life!”Amen to that!!

Aren’t you glad that the battle has already been won and Jesus has paid the price for our sins, with the devil eating dust for the rest of his life? Today stands the day between the death of Christ and the resurrection of Him. And from this day onwards, we can proclaim victory into our hands for the rest of the days of our lives!

Today at Wednesday Prayer we had Sean Lee to share the word with us!

The Temple Veil [Matthew 27:50]
(More about the veil in Exodus 26:31-36)

⁵⁰And when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, he gave up his spirit.

⁵¹At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook and the rocks split. (Matt 27:50-51)

What's the significance of the veil?
1.God initiated! The veil in the temple was actually very long and very thick, how could man be able to tear it? Only God could have done something so powerful
-Why? In the past the presence of God was only limited to behind the veil, but then God wanted to share His presence with everyone.

2. Now we have direct access to God! We don't have to go through the priests, and do those offerings. How wonderful is that that our prayers are a direct channel to God!

3. The presence of God can be anywhere, because we are the temple of the Holy Spirit.

Come to think of it, it is really a blessing for Jesus to have died on the cross for our sins, and making the way for us to have direct connection with God. It is a luxury! God is so gracious and giving, that He gave His ONLY Son to us.

Truly, we are so blessed! :D We can go straight to God to pray for our families, friends and ourselves.

HAPPY PALM SUNDAY =D Let us remember the day Jesus entered Jerusalem and let's praise and worship His coming the way the disciples did!!

Today Pastor Mark shared an awesome sermon about Palm Sunday (Luke 19:28-40). How love triumphs and 3 things we can learn from Jesus Christ our Saviour.

1) Jesus was a man with a CLEAR PURPOSE in His life

[Luke 18:31-34]
5 days before His death, Jesus had walked PURPOSEFULLY into Jerusalem even though He had known that the religious leaders were going to arrest Him.
He had walked in obedience which gave Him the strength to face the difficulties in His life.

We have to know our own purpose and not BUSY (Being Under Satan's Yoke)!!

2) Jesus was a man who PREPARED WELL

Jesus was ready to serve and was prepared to carry out His purpose!! He was ready to serve His disciples and was ready to serve His Father!

We have to be prepared to speak out the Word of God by listening to our leaders and attending daybreak!!

3) Jesus was the man who PAID THE PRICE for His purpose

[Matthew 26:36-39]
He thought of us before everything else and followed God's will for His life.

So no more lazing around and enjoying God's blessings, let us build God's kindgom together in unity! Love triumphs above all and Jesus has already led the way for us. Reach out to those with needs just as Jesus sacrificed His life to reach out to our broken world. Know that Jesus has already paid the price and let's let others know it too =)

Offence Overcomers

Hullo GoP!!!

April is here already and it's CODEBREAKER MONTH! We had Shujing to start off our Codebreaker month with her sermon " Offense Overcomers " ! And we the blog shall share with you!

What is offense?
Offense: violation of moral or divine law --> to SIN.
We are all living in a world overcome by offense : this is due to the world being overcome with sin.
The consequences of this are that we are turned away from people and from God.

But, Jesus came into this world to overcome offense! (Matthew 26:36). In doing so,
i) He came to us as a person.
ii) Jesus did not get offended by us.
iii) Jesus overcame all the world's offense with His love. He wants to overcome each of our hurt with His love! Isn't that so absolutely awesome!
iiii) Jesus wants to overcome the negative in your life with His love.

[Luke 22:45]

Why wasn't Jesus offended by Peter, James and John when they fell asleep while He was praying at the Garden of Gethsemane?

He could see that they fell asleep due to the sorrow that they were feeling for Him.

We can see therefore that Jesus could see through the circumstances of people and empathized with them. Hence, we can always trust in Him to overcome the hurt and bad experiences that we have had with His divine love!

Offense has been overcome!

Yup so same as us, let's learn to be offense overcomers. Like when our feelings get hurt, or like we get into friendship problems, and we start to hold that offense in our hearts. It's not easy to overcome, when if we pray, and set our hearts, we shall surely overcome!

We are OVERCOMERS, and we are a generation who are out to love others and ourselves. God wants to overcome our lives with His love, and since we have Him in our hearts, we shall overcome our world( our friends..families...) with His love!

So GoP, in this month of praying for our families, let's really make this effort to love those closest to our hearts especially with love, God's love.

Hope you were at yesterday's Wednesday Prayer Meeting!!! If you were, you would have heard the amazing word about ENDURANCE that Coral shared =)

But you'll read about it here anyway! Coral shared about how the power of endurance and faith brings forth fortitude!! Fortitude is the strength of mind that enables a person to encounter adversity with courage.

Coral had also quoted Mother Theresa that we are not called to be successful but FAITHFUL!

ENDURE!!

1. E mbrace God's purpose.
-He is bigger than the problem. Our strength can only be seen through our adversity.

-James 1:3-4
-persevere through our tests of faith

2. N urture your spiritual roots
-Go back to the bible during times of need. God's word is a principle that never changes.

3. D irect your attention to Jesus Christ
-Not to the problem but to the solution!!

4. U se your experience to help others

5. R ely on God's power

6. E xpect God to help you
-Not just to enter the race but to finish it!

HEY GoP!!!!

How awesome was Michelle Hamilton's testimony?? If you can't answer that question, YOU HAD JUST MISSED SUCH AN AMAZING PROOF OF GOD'S PROTECTION OVER US!!! Because really, the proof of God's everyday existence can be seen through His works and the miracles that happen everyday.

20 years ago in this very month of March, Michelle Hamilton had taken her mother on a vacation to a remote island west of the Philippines. Her mum had recently gotten to recognise Jesus as her Messiah and Michelle Hamilton was still unconvinced, and not interested of His existence.

But after being washed away at sea by the tidal waves and current in only a 7 foot (around 1-2m) canoe, SHE HEARD THE VERY VOICE OF THE LORD!! In the literal storm she was going through, God spoke to her, and showed her His glory and power. And while at sea, God had also saved her from menacing sharks!!

And all this while, even in the moments where she doubted the voice she heard ( especially when the voice told her to do things she didn't feel was logical) , God was still patient and always spoke to her again when she didn't believe. In the midst of the storm and fear, Michelle learnt to put her faith to the test, and give 100% of it to God!

She was only discovered by a boy on the deck of the boat because God had told him to go up and he OBEYED! This shows why obedience is important.

Michelle Hamilton's testimony really shows 2 things:

1) Obedience in the Lord
If the Michelle Hamilton had not obeyed the voice of the Lord, she could have never been found, had broken her neck and died, been eaten by sharks or been left by the boat!!!
And if the boy had told God that he was busy or couldn't have bothered, Michelle Hamilton would not have been found!!
So if God asks you to do something, it doesn't have to sound sensible. He desires OBEDIENCE!

2) All God wants from us is 100% FAITH!!!!
It's really through the wonders and miracles of the Lord that we see His existence. But really all He wants is for us to put our trust in Him and give our lives to Him. God will make a way, and you can be sure about it!
-He knows the future, He sees further than we can! Like when we try to reach out to our friends, they don't respond. But do not get discouraged, because the seed has been planted, and the rest is up to God (:

So GoPers!! Put your trust in God for He will never let you down!! Obey His word and know that everything will turn out fine. You have the missing puzzle piece but he CREATED the puzzle.

No matter how it seems like your friends can never/will never be saved, don't stop trying! God has the whole plan in His mind, it was created and set into place before the world even existed. So fear not, for our God will always be with us!

It's midweek! Wednesday Prayer!

Yes and every week, the word shared at Wednesday prayer just gets better and better, and also the prayers are prayed with even greater faith! If you didn't come you might have missed out... But no! We shall share with you what we heard!

Shujing shared the word today, titled "I miss God." When you hear that, won't you find it such a unique title, and doesn't it make you curious?

Missing means: going about your usual routine and realising the abscence of thing (like missing someone)

It also means: going about your usual routine and something unusual happens! :O

What is all this about? Let's turn to our bibles, Luke 2:41 *cheers*

1. Usual routine + 2.Unusual happening
-Jesus and His parents went to Jerusalem, but this time Jesus lingered in the temple
=
Jesus's parents missed Him! Because they were too caught up in the routine.

We need to be ready for something we don't expect. Getting caught up in the routine of life can sometimes blind us or stop us from seeing the unusual.

So let's make a change in our lives, the way we do things. Like if you don't usually smile at the bus uncle you could smile at him and just be a blessing(: Teehee!

YEAH SO COME ON, don't be tired because it's midweek, it's ONLY midweek lets P.U.S.H! (Pray Until Something Happens)

Loudfest!

Loudfest was seriously mind-blowing!

Well, so we had Loudfest! I don't think anyone will ever forget that $15 t-shirt that went off at $75, its a whopping 5x increase in the price for a good cause! And who could forget the audacious band, who after so many songs still did not appear to have broken into sweat, and led us into pumping our fists?! Or the wonderful sermon! We all learnt something and had a great time, didn't we?

YES!!! So for those who couldn't be there with us physically, here's some things we learnt! :D

The main theme for the sermon was OBEDIENCE TO GOD. It's easy to obey the things that are within our comfort zone. But obedience comes to a totally new level when it involves us stepping 'beyond the line', out of our comfort zone!

Like openly sharing the word, or having a cell in our school, is not the norm or natural thing to do. It involves us coming out of our comfort zone, being BOLD and COURAGEOUS to be unashamed of our faith in Christ! :D

When you say NO to God, You take the responsibility.
But when you say YES to God, He will take the responsibility for you!

God doesn't want to save you from the lion's den, He wants to save you in it! There is always a challenge when you cross the line, but you just need to obey, and in the end, you will definitely come to see God's greater purpose for you.

Service

Hey GoP!:D

Well today we had service by Pastor Adam and Roland who kindly translated right? :D Well, we started off with the very funny "blow wind blow" game :D which involved us pushing each other down in order to secure a spot with someone's shoe, haha, :D and then Pastor Adam shared his testimony right? :D

Yups for those who weren't there,we'll tell you a bit of what he shared! (: Pastor Adam had this passion to reach out to youths, and seeing the youths playing basketball weekly at the neighbourhood basketball, he decided to reach out to them by blessing them with mineral water to drink every week! And after one month, the youths started asking him why he was so nice, and thats where he started to be able to reach out to them, and eventually form a youth group :D He had the passion, he wanted to serve, and God used him!

Isn't that incredible? Likewise, we can also do such things in our school right? We don't have to spend money on gifts to other people. We can just do the simplest things like writing notes, or just being such a blessing to our teachers and friends, and FAMILY! And by praying for them too (:

Wasn't it incredible that one man started off with 0 youths and formed a big youth group in the end?

Its incredible what you can do when you have your heart and mind set out to it, as well as when the Holy Spirit is leading and guiding you, just as how Pastor Adam was guided in how to reach out and speak to the youths hearts.

Well, if one man could do it, what about those of us who already have small school cells? We can be Pastor Adams in our schools and above all lets tune in our antennas to the broadcasting frequency of the Holy Spirit!

Even though it's the school holidays now, we shall still make an effort to be a blessing to others, be MINISTERS around our circle of influence.

Fresh Fire Conference

Fresh fire...let it fall.

The song by Don Moen explains it all.

But above everything else, Rev. Bernard Blessing shared an amazingly witty and hilarious sermon that stretched us to realise that we had to change many aspects of our lives. In hilarious detail, Rev. Blessing shared that the best attitude of worship would be an external reverance categorized by the opening of hands which would signify one's open attitude towards the holy spirit. Of course, this external behavior would have to be propelled from the inside.

The fresh fire conference has indeed propelled the Assembly of God churches in Singapore to greater heights thanks to the way it has instilled confidence, clarity and perspective into the visionaries of the churches. With God in us, and a new vision, Generation of Promise will head a long long way to come.

The challenge was to write down 3 acts of goodness and kindness to others at home, at school and at church. We've heard responses such as "bickering less with my parents" and "stop gossiping about my enemy" and "helping others more in ministry". Have you performed yours yet?

Gentleness!

We truly hope to see the youth room filled with loving people who do not throw pillows at one another, scream loudly across the entire room, dismantling barbie and hiding it at hidden places and scaring the people who chance upon it... well enough examples, I think we get the picture. :P Beyond the youth room, like what Alvin said, the world needs people who are gentle... that's how we are different! Let's be good testimonies, especially at home!

Faithfulness

Kudos to Lydia who stepped out in faith and shared her first sermon!!! :) MelG worship-led for the first time as well! :) For all of us who were there, let's be excited to have been part of such a momentous service of first times. :)

But as from Lydia's sermon, we should know by now it's not the just the first times that matter... good first times should be followed up closely by good second, third, fourth times as well!

I got most impacted by Lydia's list of applications for areas of faithfulness... to God, in church and at home! :) Haha well it was difficult sitting through the service without feeling uncomfortable at some times because i was getting convicted of a certain parts of my life that i had to stay faithful with. Well, it was difficult to even practice selective hearing because Lydia stated the applications and examples so clearly! But besides that, yes, God is indeed faithful! :) I'm believing for more testimonies to come in as well as we start getting serious and faithful with the things that God has placed in our lives... exciting times are ahead! :)

Hello dear GoPers!

As you can tell, we are currently trying to revamp our GoP blog!

There are a few technical glitches though...:
If you use IE, you probably won't be able to see anything else other than this entries page.
If you use Firefox, the design might look weird but you should be able to see the pages.
If you use other systems like Opera, there would be something else you'd be able to see and not be able to see.

We're still trying to solve these technical glitches so do give us a bit more time to work on it! If you are a cool computer geek and you know coding and you have a rough idea of what might be the problem, do come and inform us about it!

In the meantime, more updates coming along!

Karang Gunis For God

Hey GoP! For those of us who have done S.O.A.P.ed today already, we'd have come across this verses: Isaiah 58:6-7, "Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen:... ... Is not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter - when you see the naked to clothe him...".

Now it's time for you to do your part!

As a part of 3 months of mercy, the YAs will be collecting CHILDRENS' CLOTHES, TOYS, BOOKS, etc for TRANS Centre Bedok. Trans Centre Bedok reaches out to needy families. So please do dig around your homes for any childrens' clothes, toys and books that are still in condition and bring them down to the youth room by this Saturday, 5th July 08.

ENGAGE08 is over!

We all discovered the hidden talents amongst us, had tremendous fun, and bonded with our cells. Beyond that, we sincerely hope everybody carries something into the new school term - to really engage others and to engage God.

Church Camp 08

We're physically tired from the journey back to Singapore (with all that shopping at city square), but we're all spiritually excited about the new work God will be doing in our church. It's difficult to summarize up the whole of church camp into a few simple sentences... but since I have to attempt to do so, I would say church camp has been an amazing start of a momentum to a closer walk with Jesus. The prayer meetings after morning service, the S.O.A.P. discussions in the morning, the sharing of testimonies on the bus - those were the start of our momentums for increased prayer and QT. Beyond that, individually we've came back with our own "action plans" for "think new, do new" instead of "think new, do old" (refer to 2nd day morning service). For those of us who haven't been to church camp, let's pray for a transfer of the momentum from those who have (refer to 3rd morning service). We just wanna help by making available the sermons recordings from church camp (personal recordings so don't mind the lousy quality... will try to get better ones soon.). Do listen and hear God speak. :)

GoP Wednesday Prayer (4th June)

"It's Wednesday again and we're just going to gather again to pray." - that's probably one of the notions that got kicked out of my mind today. We started off with praise and worship (this time with 3 musicians and 3 singers and 1 worship leader), and Avelene, Amanda and Sunny shared their testimonies, and then there was the Word, and finally we prayed. It seems to be a similar form as with previous prayer meetings, but I had to get excited because I know the God whom I serve loves to do a new thing in us every single day. Like what Shaunster shared, it’s good we have discipline, but praying by discipline only will be a drag – we need desire too beyond discipline. That desire in me should have been stirred before I even stepped into prayer… I should have prepared myself for meeting up with God by praying, actually, when I was in the kbox doing some work. J We ended off the Word by praying and sharing about the Rhema we got from 2 Chronicles 7:14… a common verse used by many people… but with that verse we established that all of us can get a fresh revelation from God. Of course, when we ended the Word, praying was so much easier and so much less of a duty and more of a delight! So now, I’m looking forward to Saturday prayer – see you there, and stay excited!

For MAY's evangelistic service on the 25th, we are very privileged to have our Guest Speaker, Mr Gurmit Singh to come and share with us.

Time: 5.30 PM to 9 PM (including post-party)
Venue: 4th floor, Main Sanctuary

Do invite your friends and come expectant that God will move mightily in the service as well as in the post-party.

There will also be a short course on Public Speaking by none other than Mr Gurmit Singh himself. It will be held at the 4th Floor, Main Sanctuary, at 4 PM.
